United Russia maintains a commanding lead in trader consensus for securing the most seats in the September 2026 State Duma elections, reflecting its entrenched position as the ruling party with extensive regional structures, control over candidate registration, and consistent dominance in both proportional representation and single-member districts. Recent opinion polls from VCIOM and others show United Russia at 40-50% support, well ahead of rivals, while New People has posted gains to around 13% in select telephone surveys—positioning it as the strongest challenger among systemic parties—though face-to-face polling and expert assessments place it lower and highlight weaker organizational reach compared with the CPRF and LDPR. Preparations including party primaries and candidate approvals have reinforced United Russia’s advantages ahead of the three-day vote, with analysts noting limited prospects for any opposition party to alter the seat distribution significantly under current electoral rules and registration thresholds.
