Stephen Bunting enters the New Zealand Darts Masters opener as the clear market favorite at 76.5% implied probability, driven by his status as PDC world number nine and consistent elite-level performances through 2026. The English player posted multiple nightly wins in the Premier League, reached deep runs in ranking events, and maintains strong averages against international fields. Raymond Smith, an Australian specialist with domestic titles and WDF success, faces a steep step up in class on the World Series stage despite recent strong regional form. Bunting’s superior ranking, experience in similar events, and head-to-head edge in high-stakes legs justify trader consensus, though Smith’s scoring potential keeps the outcome from being certain in best-of-11 format.
