With seven matchdays remaining in the 2025/26 LaLiga season after matchday 31, the battle for the UEFA Conference League spot—likely 7th place, pending Copa del Rey outcome—centers on a congested mid-table where Real Sociedad leads on 42 points, one clear of Getafe (41), and three ahead of Osasuna (39), RCD Espanyol, Girona FC, and Athletic Club (all 38). Celta Vigo clings to 6th (44 points) for a potential Europa League berth, while Real Betis (46) holds 5th. Recent results show Barcelona extending their lead at 79 points with five straight wins, but mid-table volatility persists amid tight goal differences (+1 for Sociedad, -5 for Getafe) and pivotal head-to-head fixtures ahead, including Sociedad vs. Osasuna and Getafe's favorable run against lower sides. Copa del Rey finalists' league finish could cascade spots downward if a top-six team prevails.
