The federal criminal case against the Southern Poverty Law Center, indicted in April 2026 on wire fraud, false statements to a bank, and money laundering conspiracy charges tied to its informant payments, remains in pretrial proceedings in the Middle District of Alabama. A motion to dismiss on vindictive prosecution grounds was denied in August 2026, and a not guilty plea was entered earlier, with superseding indictments adding details but no trial date set before year-end. The Polymarket market resolves to Yes only on a court finding of guilt by December 31, 2026; pleas without admission, dismissals, or delays produce No. Traders assign 88.5 percent probability to No, reflecting standard federal case timelines and the absence of any imminent verdict.
