The Chicago Cubs enter the three-game interleague series at Kauffman Stadium riding a five-game win streak and holding a 68-49 record, good for second place in the NL Central. Their offense has been powered by Pete Crow-Armstrong’s recent home-run surge, while the pitching staff continues to manage multiple injuries on the 15- and 60-day IL, including key relievers and starters. The Royals sit at 48-69, last in the AL Central, but have homered in 14 of their past 18 games since the All-Star break and will look to leverage home-field power at Kauffman. Both clubs face bullpen and rotation questions due to forearm, elbow, and shoulder ailments, making recent form and lineup health the primary drivers of market pricing for individual games.
