The wide-open 2026 Liga 1 campaign, split between Apertura and Clausura phases, has produced no clear hierarchy, leaving the race for second place tightly bunched as multiple sides trade results without sustained separation on the aggregate table. Recent form from clubs like Comerciantes Unidos, ADT, Los Chankas, and UTC Cajamarca—bolstered by strong home performances and defensive organization—has kept their implied probabilities clustered near the top, while established sides such as Universitario, Alianza Lima, FBC Melgar, and Sporting Cristal remain within striking distance through consistent goal tallies and head-to-head edges. Promoted teams including Deportivo Moquegua and FC Cajamarca have injected additional parity, preventing any single contender from pulling away amid the fluid mid-season schedule and typical Liga 1 variability in away results and fixture congestion.
