In the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters qualifying final on clay, World No. 74 Damir Dzumhur leverages veteran experience and defensive grinding against No. 92 Alexander Blockx's rising power game. Both advanced Saturday in straight sets: Dzumhur edged wildcard Nicolai Budkov Kjaer 7-6(4), 7-5 shortly after a Bucharest Challenger quarterfinal run, showcasing 4-3 clay form this year; Blockx overcame Francesco Maestrelli 7-6, 6-2, saving seven set points in a gritty opener despite limited 2026 red-clay exposure. No head-to-head exists, but Monte Carlo's slow conditions favor Dzumhur's rally tolerance over Blockx's relative inexperience. Sunny mild weather poses no disruptions; a main draw berth hangs in the balance.
