DeVonta Smith enters the 2026 NFL season as the Philadelphia Eagles' undisputed No. 1 wide receiver following A.J. Brown's offseason trade to New England. This shift positions the 27-year-old to command a larger target share in an offense led by quarterback Jalen Hurts and featuring running back Saquon Barkley plus tight end Dallas Goedert. A new scheme under offensive coordinator Sean Mannion emphasizes play-action, motion, and multiple personnel groupings, which could distribute targets more evenly among additions like rookie Makai Lemon, Marquise Brown, Dontayvion Wicks, and Elijah Moore. Smith dealt with a hamstring injury through much of training camp and preseason but has been cleared for full participation ahead of Week 1. His 2025 output of 77 receptions over 17 games provides a baseline, with historical splits showing elevated volume in games without Brown.
