This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Iowa. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Iowa, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The closely contested Iowa U.S. Senate race between Republican nominee Ashley Hinson and Democratic nominee Josh Turek, following Joni Ernst’s retirement, stands as the main driver of uncertainty in total voter turnout expectations for the November 3 general election. Recent primaries concluded with Hinson and Turek advancing decisively, while multiple polls show margins under three points and ratings ranging from toss-up to lean Republican. Iowa has roughly 2.1 million registered voters and recorded 51.9 percent turnout in the 2022 midterms; the current competitiveness could boost mobilization among swing voters, youth cohorts, and both parties’ bases, yet national conditions, campaign spending, and weather on Election Day remain key variables that could push totals into any of the narrow vote buckets priced near 41–44.5 percent. Historical base rates and the open-seat dynamic keep separation among the ranges limited until clearer signals emerge on engagement levels.
