Han Shi enters this ITF W15 Tianjin hard-court matchup as the clear favorite based on her superior 2026 hard-court record (around 42-15) and recent results, including multiple ITF titles and strong showings in European W50 events through July. Ranked near WTA 262, the 21-year-old right-hander has demonstrated consistent form and depth against comparable or stronger opposition. Shiyu Ye, an 19-year-old ranked outside the top 700 with a more modest 2026 ledger (roughly 13-10 on hard), has shown promise in lower-tier Chinese events but exits early against higher-caliber players. Surface familiarity in Tianjin and limited prior head-to-head data further tilt trader consensus toward Shi, though Ye’s youth and local-circuit experience leave room for competitive sets if she finds early rhythm.
