Houston Astros enter their second game of the series at the Athletics' Sutter Health Park with a strong 5-2 start, including momentum from a hot opening week, while Oakland sits at 1-5 amid early offensive and pitching woes. Today's matchup pits inexperienced right-handers Tatsuya Imai (Astros, 13.50 ERA in limited action) against Luis Morales (Athletics, 0-1, 10.38 ERA), both vulnerable after short outings, potentially favoring Houston's deeper lineup featuring Yordan Alvarez and Jose Altuve. Astros' pitching staff is thinned by injuries to Josh Hader (15-day IL, biceps) and others, but no major lineup changes reported; mild Sacramento weather (70s, low wind) poses no issues. Recent head-to-head favors A's from late 2025 sweeps, but current form drives trader sentiment toward Houston's edge in AL West standings.
