The reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers (5-2) carry momentum into the second game of their three-game series against the Washington Nationals (3-4) at Nationals Park, following a dominant 13-6 win in the Nats' home opener on April 3, where Shohei Ohtani extended his MLB-best 38-game on-base streak with a three-run homer amid five Dodgers long balls. Both teams grapple with pitching woes—Dodgers sidelining Bobby Miller and Gavin Stone (shoulder issues), Nationals without Trevor Williams and DJ Herz (elbow)—potentially tilting toward offense in early-season play. Key watch: Ohtani's minor shoulder subluxation (full range reported), probable starters like Emmet Sheehan or Justin Wrobleski for LA versus Nationals' rotation depth, home/away splits, and weather in D.C. amid competitive NL East implications.
