Magomed Ankalaev holds the strongest position as Carlos Ulberg’s likely next opponent at 55% implied probability, driven by his recent fifth-round TKO of Bogdan Guskov in Abu Dhabi and status as the division’s top-ranked contender following a prior title loss. Ulberg, the current light heavyweight champion who captured the belt with a first-round knockout of Jiri Prochazka at UFC 327 despite an ACL tear, has publicly endorsed an Ankalaev-Prochazka matchup to determine a title challenger while sidelined through the remainder of 2026. Paulo Costa and Jan Blachowicz sit at much lower probabilities given their rankings and recent activity levels, with Guskov further removed after the loss. Ulberg’s cautious 2027 return timeline and emphasis on full camps for contenders reinforce the market’s focus on established light heavyweight contenders over less immediate options.
