Lois Boisson enters the WTA 125 Philadelphia hard-court first round as the clear favorite against American teenager Capucine Jauffret, reflecting the substantial ranking gap and experience edge. The 23-year-old French player, already assured of US Open main-draw entry via protected ranking, is using the event for additional hard-court preparation and has shown stronger recent results on the surface. Jauffret, an 18-year-old ranked well outside the top 800, faces a steep challenge in her first meeting against Boisson, with limited professional wins and recent form that includes several losses. No prior head-to-head exists, so the outcome hinges on Boisson maintaining consistency in serving and baseline rallies against a younger opponent seeking an early breakthrough. Surface-specific trends and home-crowd support for the American represent the primary variables that could influence set-by-set momentum.
