Trader consensus strongly favors Sebastian Baez at 75% implied probability over Stan Wawrinka in their Rolex Monte Carlo Masters first-round matchup on clay courts, driven by Baez's edge as a 25-year-old Argentine clay specialist ranked around No. 25 ATP, with a 1-0 head-to-head lead from straight-sets victory at the January United Cup on hard courts. Baez enters with solid recent form, including deep Indian Wells runs and main-draw entry via Novak Djokovic's withdrawal, thriving on the slower surface where his topspin-heavy game excels. Wawrinka, the 41-year-old No. 94 on farewell tour after receiving a wild card, boasts 2014 Monte Carlo title experience but contends with age-related physical limitations and sparse 2026 results, underscoring the generational gap shaping market sentiment.
