Zizou Bergs and Adrian Mannarino, ranked 46 and 43 respectively, meet in the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters first round on red clay, where neither thrives—Bergs holds a 40% ATP clay win rate (8-12 career), Mannarino 38% (80-133). Mannarino leads their sole head-to-head 1-0, rallying from a set down for a Paris Masters hard-court win last October. Both enter with middling 2026 form (Bergs 6-7 YTD, Mannarino 6-8), limited recent clay exposure—Mannarino's Bucharest bye into R32 last week yielded no deep run. Veteran Mannarino leverages 12 prior Monte Carlo appearances (best: third round, 2017) and nearby French support against rising Bergs; no injury reports, but late withdrawals remain possible on the slow, high-bouncing surface.
