Haruka Kaji enters the ITF W35 Taipei encounter as the higher-ranked player at WTA No. 288 compared with Eunhye Lee’s No. 364, reflecting stronger recent results on the ITF circuit and a more consistent 2026 win rate. Both competitors have shown solid hard-court form in regional events leading into the match, with Kaji securing a straight-sets win in her most recent outing in Taipei. Lee, however, holds a prior head-to-head victory over Kaji in straight sets and has posted competitive results in W100-level events this spring. The upcoming hard-court surface and potential fatigue from the Asian swing represent key variables that could influence set-by-set execution in this first-round matchup.
