Koki Matsuda enters this ITF M25 Taipei first-round matchup as the clear favorite due to his ATP ranking near 451 and established experience on the professional circuit, where he holds a solid recent record on hard courts. The 25-year-old Japanese player brings consistent baseline play and prior ITF-level results, contrasting with 19-year-old local Chen Hui Ho, a Western Michigan college player transitioning from junior tennis with a career-high ITF junior ranking of 96 but limited senior results. The outdoor hard-court surface in Taipei favors Matsuda’s established game, though Ho benefits from home conditions and recent qualifying activity; head-to-head history is absent, leaving form, fitness, and adaptation to pro-level intensity as primary variables in this early-round encounter.
