Ryuki Matsuda enters this M25 Taipei 2 qualifying match as the clear favorite on hard courts, backed by a higher ranking near 783, greater experience, and a 1-0 head-to-head edge that includes a straight-sets win over Chun-Chien Hou at the same event in 2025. Matsuda’s recent hard-court results show improved second-serve and return effectiveness compared with Hou, who sits much lower in the rankings around 1578 and has faced stiffer competition in limited 2026 appearances. Both players posted qualifying wins leading into the matchup, but Matsuda’s deeper tour-level exposure and stronger breakpoint conversion trends underpin trader consensus favoring him. Surface familiarity and age/experience gaps further tilt probability assessment toward the Japanese player in this best-of-three encounter.
