The New York Mets enter their April 10 home opener against the Oakland Athletics at Citi Field riding momentum from back-to-back blowout wins over the Giants, including a 9-0 shutout behind Clay Holmes' seven scoreless innings despite Juan Soto's minor calf strain sidelining him for an MRI. Holmes (1-0, low ERA early) draws the start versus Athletics righty Luis Morales (0-1, 10.38 ERA), who faces a Mets offense averaging strong run production lately. The Athletics sit at 2-6 after pitchers issued a season-high 13 walks in a loss to Houston, highlighting control issues in their rotation. Mets hold a historical edge in head-to-head matchups, bolstered by home-field advantage and healthier bullpen depth, though Soto's status remains a key variable ahead of this interleague series.
