Marjorie Souza holds a clear edge in experience and ranking as the higher-seeded Brazilian in this ITF W15 Brasilia quarterfinal on hard courts, sitting at WTA 1226 with an ITF ranking of 28. The 22-year-old advanced convincingly in the round of 16 with a 6-0, 7-6(6) victory. Maria Eduarda Carbone Dos Santos, a 16-year-old junior ranked WTA 1397 and ITF junior 194, has posted strong recent results including a 6-1, 6-3 win over a higher-ranked opponent, showing aggressive baseline play and solid serving. Their first meeting features contrasting styles, with Souza’s consistency and court time likely key against Carbone’s emerging power and the home-crowd factor in Brasilia.
