Katie Swan enters this ITF W75 Kurume semifinal as the slightly higher-ranked player at world No. 269, carrying a 12-9 record in 2026 and a 2-0 head-to-head edge over Kyoka Okamura, including a straight-sets victory last August on hard courts. Okamura, ranked No. 285, has built strong momentum on home soil, reaching this stage with dominant wins in the quarterfinals and semifinals while posting an 11-9 mark this year. The hard-court surface favors consistent baseline play and return pressure, areas where both players have shown recent competence. Swan's experience at this level and historical dominance in their prior meetings shape much of the current trader consensus, though Okamura's local form and recent results introduce meaningful variables heading into the match.
