The Chicago Cubs enter this June 17 matchup at Wrigley Field with a stronger overall profile, holding a 38-36 record and sitting third in the NL Central, while the Rockies stand at 28-46 and last in the NL West. After splitting the first two games—with the Cubs rallying for a 5-4 walk-off win on June 15 featuring Pete Crow-Armstrong’s cycle and the Rockies responding with a 5-2 victory on June 16 behind strong relief work—the series is tied 1-1. Home-field advantage, recent bullpen stability for Chicago, and the Cubs’ superior season-long run differential shape trader consensus around the favored outcome, though Colorado’s timely hitting and road resilience keep the contest competitive.
