Valve's long-rumored next Half-Life title, internally referred to as HLX, continues to drive trader sentiment through persistent datamining of Source 2 files, playtest milestones, and insider reports linking the project to the company's upcoming Steam Machine hardware. Recent leaks indicate development has advanced beyond early experimentation into optimization phases, with sources such as Mike Straw and Tyler McVicker pointing to a potential 2026 announcement window tied to the console's Spring launch. No official reveal has materialized despite heightened expectations around late 2025 hardware news and anniversaries, reflecting Valve's deliberate, low-profile approach to flagship releases. Key upcoming catalysts include further hardware updates, major industry events like Summer Game Fest, and any new SteamDB or internal file activity that could shift implied probabilities before market resolution.

To qualify for a "Yes" resolution, the game must be explicitly acknowledged by Valve to be an installment of the Half-Life franchise or have the words "Half-Life" in the title. Updates to and expansion packs for already-released games will not be sufficient to resolve this market to "Yes". An announcement by Valve of a new qualifying game before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced game becomes available to the public.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from Valve or a consensus of credible sources.
