Zizou Bergs enters the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters first-round clash against Adrian Mannarino as the slight ranking favorite at No. 46 over the No. 43 veteran, amid a tight ATP 1000 clay opener where both lack strong surface pedigrees—Bergs holds an 8-14 career ATP clay mark, while Mannarino sits 4-8 lifetime here, best third round in 2017. Mannarino leads their head-to-head 1-0 via a 2024 Paris second-round win on indoor hard, but recent hard-court form favors neither after Miami exits (Bergs tight loss to Etcheverry) and Indian Wells struggles, with no injury concerns reported. Youthful baseline power meets lefty slice experience on slow Monte Carlo clay, testing trader consensus on fatigue and transition dynamics.
