Martin Damm arrives at this Winston-Salem Open round-of-16 clash on a career-high wave after upsetting top seed Daniil Medvedev 7-5, 6-3 in the second round, leveraging his 6-foot-8 left-handed frame, booming serve, and net effectiveness on hard courts to notch his first top-10 victory. The American wild card, ranked No. 92, followed an earlier straight-sets win over Abedallah Shelbayh and has climbed into the top 100 this summer. No. 15 seed Fabian Marozsan advanced comfortably by defeating Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 6-4 for the third time in 2026, bringing all-court variety and heavier groundstrokes that typically neutralize pure power. The pair has no prior head-to-head, leaving traders to weigh Damm’s momentum and serve dominance against Marozsan’s experience and return consistency in the best-of-three format.
