Gian van Veen enters as the clear favorite at 62.5% implied probability due to his elite PDC ranking, consistent 97-plus tournament averages, and proven ability to post high checkout percentages against top opposition. The Dutch number one has shown strong recent form in World Series and major events, including comfortable opening-round wins and deep runs at the World Championship and Matchplay. Raymond Smith, a seasoned Australian campaigner, brings momentum from regional titles and a standout 99.81 average upset of Stephen Bunting at the New Zealand Darts Masters, highlighting his doubles accuracy and comfort on Oceanic stages. However, the matchup dynamics favor van Veen’s superior scoring volume and experience in high-stakes PDC formats over Smith’s occasional strong showings. Trader consensus reflects these gaps while acknowledging Smith’s realistic upset potential in shorter formats.
