Real Madrid holds a commanding 9-point lead over third-placed Villarreal in the LaLiga table after 31 matchdays, with a superior +36 goal difference and unmatched squad depth driving trader consensus to a 95.3% implied probability for securing second place and Champions League qualification. Barcelona's dominant run, including recent wins that extended their own lead to 9 points, has shifted focus from the title race, while Madrid maintained their buffer despite a winless streak in their last four league games. Villarreal and Atletico trail further at 61 and 57 points, respectively, facing tougher remaining fixtures. Only a catastrophic Madrid collapse—major injuries, suspensions, or multiple losses—coupled with perfect runs from chasers, could realistically challenge this positioning with seven matchdays left.

In the event of a tie, this market will resolve to the team officially recognized by La Liga as finishing in second place. If multiple teams are officially awarded second place, the market will resolve to the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If at any point it becomes impossible for the listed club to finish 2nd in the 2025-2026 LaLiga season (e.g. they are mathematically unable to achieve enough points), the market will resolve to "No".
If the 2025-2026 LaLiga season is cancelled, postponed after May 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no 2nd place team declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The primary resolution source will be official information from the LaLiga. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
