Yan Cheng Chen enters the ITF M25 Taipei 2 first-round matchup as the clear favorite against 17-year-old Yen-Chun Wang on outdoor hard courts. The 24-year-old Chen holds an ATP ranking near 1050 with a career record hovering around 45-44, reflecting steady experience at this level and stronger recent hard-court results in M15 events. Wang, an ITF-ranked junior with far fewer senior matches and a much lower ATP standing, has shown promise in local qualifiers but limited depth against established pros. Both players are Taiwanese, yet Chen’s greater physical maturity, serve consistency, and return pressure in comparable fixtures shape trader consensus around his strong implied probability. Surface familiarity and home conditions offer little offsetting edge for the younger Wang.
