**Kasidit Samrej holds a substantial edge over Yan Cheng Chen in the M25 Taipei 2 hard-court match due to his far superior ranking (around ATP 400-480 range, career-high 346) and greater experience at higher ITF and Challenger levels.** Samrej, Thailand’s top player with a Grand Slam main-draw appearance, enters after advancing in the Taipei draw with a recent win over Yuki Mochizuki, showing solid hard-court results despite mixed outcomes in prior Astana and Tokyo events. Chen, a Taiwanese player ranked outside the top 1,000 ATP, has notched straight-set victories in the same tournament over lower-ranked locals but posts a modest overall win rate and limited success against stronger opposition. The hard surface favors neither markedly, yet Samrej’s consistent results at this level and pedigree create a wide implied-probability gap reflected in trader pricing. Local support and recent form provide Chen with some upset potential, though the ranking and experience differential dominate consensus expectations.
