Detroit Tigers visit the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park for the finale of their three-game interleague series on August 9, 2026, with both clubs well out of playoff contention and focused on evaluating younger talent after aggressive trade-deadline sell-offs. Detroit enters at 56-59 after parting with ace Tarik Skubal and starter Casey Mize, while San Francisco sits at 48-67 following moves that sent Robbie Ray, Luis Arráez, and others out of the organization. The Giants have dealt with key injuries, including a likely season-ending core issue for third baseman Matt Chapman, and will lean on home pitching and Oracle Park’s dimensions. Recent form shows the Tigers scoring in bunches during interleague play, but the clubs’ depleted rotations and bullpens create uncertainty around any single contest.
