Die Linke maintains a substantial lead over the SPD in recent Berlin state election polling, with support for Die Linke ranging from 19-22% compared to the SPD’s 12-15% across surveys conducted in July and August 2026. This gap underpins trader consensus that Die Linke will secure more votes on September 20. The party’s gains stem from emphasis on housing affordability and landlord expropriation, alongside rapid membership growth that has made it Berlin’s largest by enrollment. In contrast, the SPD, currently governing in a CDU coalition facing voter dissatisfaction, has shown limited recovery despite a new lead candidate. Multiple pollsters including Infratest dimap and INSA confirm the pattern, with no recent developments narrowing the margin ahead of the vote.
