Both young players born in 2003 compete on outdoor clay at the ITF M15 Messina event, where home-soil experience gives Leonardo Primucci a situational edge as an Italian player in his home country. Primucci enters with a recent ATP ranking near 1184 after mixed results in prior M15 and M25 clay events, including a first-round loss at Caltanissetta. Maxence Rivet, ranked around 1269 with a career-high of 602, has shown variable form on hard and clay surfaces in recent Tunisian and Spanish tournaments. Their limited prior meetings and similar experience levels at this tier create a closely contested matchup, with clay-court movement, endurance, and early-round momentum likely to shape the outcome.
