**Avengers: Doomsday** leads trader sentiment for 2026’s biggest opening week due to record-breaking advance ticket sales exceeding $35 million months ahead of its December 18 release, fueled by the MCU’s Avengers reunion, Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, and strong early tracking for a $260–300 million domestic debut. This positions the film ahead of **Spider-Man: Brand New Day**, which already delivered a franchise-best $360 million opening in July and over $2 billion globally but lacks comparable pre-release momentum for year-end volume. Other contenders like **Toy Story 5** ($160 million June opening) and the November **Hunger Games** prequel show solid but secondary appeal, while **Dune: Messiah** faces direct holiday competition. Market-implied odds reflect skin-in-the-game consensus on franchise scale, presale velocity, and seasonal timing amid inherent entertainment volatility.
