If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of 2. Bundesliga for the 2026-27 season per the rules of 2. Bundesliga (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically. If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be official information from the 2. Bundesliga; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The 2026-27 2. Bundesliga campaign opened in early August with a notably open field for second place and automatic promotion. Multiple clubs with recent Bundesliga experience—relegated sides like VfL Wolfsburg, FC St. Pauli, and 1. FC Heidenheim—bring retained squad depth and transfer activity, while ambitious sides such as Hertha BSC, Hannover 96, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, and Eintracht Braunschweig add historical pedigree and momentum from strong pre-season or opening fixtures. Newly promoted teams like VfL Osnabrück and Energie Cottbus, alongside consistent performers including 1. FC Nürnberg, Holstein Kiel, and Karlsruher SC, further dilute any single frontrunner. Early table parity after the first matchday, combined with a 34-game schedule featuring home/away splits and playoff implications, sustains trader consensus around even odds across the group.
