The Houston Astros visit the Washington Nationals for a three-game series at Nationals Park beginning July 6, with both clubs hovering near .500 amid injury challenges. Houston’s lineup has been thinned by hamstring placements for Jeremy Peña and LaMonte Wade Jr., plus ongoing absences for Carlos Correa and rehab work for starters like Cristian Javier, limiting depth and forcing reliance on call-ups. Washington sits at 43-43, recently climbing back to even after strong road results, powered by young hitters such as James Wood and CJ Abrams while benefiting from an improved bullpen. Home-field advantage and the Astros’ travel from a recent road swing tilt situational edges toward the Nationals, though variable starting-pitching matchups and typical MLB variance will shape outcomes. Trader pricing likely reflects these roster and venue factors more than long-term standings.
