Recent polling from sources including Third Way, Harvard IOP, and Pew Research Center shows Democrats holding a substantial edge on the generic congressional ballot among young men ages 18-29, often in the range of 12 to 30 points among likely voters. This positioning stems from post-2024 shifts, with surveys indicating disillusionment over economic conditions such as cost of living and tariffs, alongside lower midterm turnout intentions among those who supported Republicans in the prior presidential contest. Young men who skipped 2024 voting also tilt Democratic in several samples, while overall gender and age patterns favor Democrats in off-year elections. Trader consensus reflected in the 71-28 split aligns with these patterns of enthusiasm gaps and ballot preferences, though final outcomes remain subject to turnout and late-cycle developments.
