The Boston Red Sox enter the series at 64-54 and third in the AL East, eight games behind the division leader, while the Toronto Blue Jays sit at 57-63 and last in the standings. Boston’s recent 7-3 stretch contrasts with a three-game losing skid, and the clubs have split focus on starting pitching matchups and bullpen usage at Rogers Centre. Toronto placed Jameson Taillon on the injured list with forearm tendinitis and continues to manage other roster absences, while Boston has dealt with its own infield injuries. Home-field factors, recent head-to-head results, and the teams’ divergent playoff implications shape the current market positioning for individual game and series outcomes.
