The Chicago White Sox hold a narrow AL Central lead at 63-58 but have cooled to a 4-6 mark over their last ten games, while the Detroit Tigers sit 3.5 games back at 60-62 after going 7-3 in the same span and climbing into the Wild Card picture. The three-game series at Comerica Park features home-field advantages for Detroit amid ongoing roster challenges, including multiple catcher injuries for Chicago and several Tigers outfielders and relievers on the IL. Recent bullpen usage, probable starters such as left-hander Sean Newcomb, and divisional standings pressure shape the matchup, with both clubs showing inconsistent offensive output and relying on pitching depth and late-inning adjustments to control tight contests.
