R. Vaishali clinched the 2026 FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament outright with a decisive Round 14 win over Kateryna Lagno as White, securing 8.5/14 points in the 8-player double round-robin event held in Cyprus from March 28 to April 16. Her victory aligned with draws among co-leader Bibisara Assaubayeva versus Divya Deshmukh and others, breaking a late tie and overcoming mid-tournament draws and setbacks in a rollercoaster campaign. This skin-in-the-game trader consensus at 100% mirrors FIDE's official standings confirmation, earning her the right to challenge reigning Women's World Champion Ju Wenjun; only an unprecedented appeal, forfeiture, or ruling reversal could realistically shift the result.
