Ryo Tabata, the higher-ranked Japanese junior at approximately No. 29 in the ITF standings and already holding an ATP ranking near 915, faces Czech 17-year-old Jakub Kusy (ITF junior No. 49) in the Wimbledon boys’ singles round of 64 on grass. Tabata has compiled stronger recent results across the junior circuit, including solid showings in J300-level events, while both players have focused pre-tournament training on grass surfaces. Kusy has posted competitive results in European junior events and J500 tournaments but trails in overall ranking points and experience at this level. The grass-court setting and Tabata’s edge in recent form and ranking points shape trader consensus around the matchup, though first-round junior Grand Slam encounters remain subject to variance from surface adaptation and match-specific execution.
