Essex enter the South Group clash with stronger momentum, sitting fourth after two wins in four outings, while Middlesex languish fifth with just one victory from five and a negative net run rate. New Middlesex coach Peter Fulton faces early challenges after losing leading run-scorer Stephen Eskinazi and with wicketkeeper Joe Cracknell sidelined by injury, limiting power-hitting options at Merchant Taylors’ School. Essex rely on captain Simon Harmer’s all-round contributions and Wiaan Mulder’s impact, though seam bowling depth is reduced by absences. Recent head-to-head encounters have been tight, but current form and squad stability favor the visitors in this T20 Blast encounter.
