Stephen Bunting enters this New Zealand Darts Masters first-round matchup as the clear market favorite at 68.5% implied probability, driven by his PDC world ranking of ninth and stronger recent results on the elite circuit. The 2026 BetMGM Premier League campaign featured two nightly wins, including a 6-3 victory over defending champion Luke Humphries in Sheffield with a 106-plus average, while he reached the Players Championship finals stage earlier in the year. Raymond Smith, ranked outside the top 140 in the PDC and focused primarily on Australian WDF and DPA events where he has collected regional titles, lacks comparable experience against top-tier opponents. No injury concerns have been reported for either player, leaving Bunting’s checkout consistency and proven major-event pedigree as the dominant factors reflected in current trader pricing.
