Gabriele Piraino holds a clear edge entering this ITF M25 Caltanissetta first-round match on clay, backed by his higher ATP ranking near 383 and career high of 341 compared to Lorenzo Lorusso’s position outside the top 900. The 22-year-old left-hander leads their head-to-head 1-0 after a straight-sets win on the same surface last year, while recent results show Piraino competing at a more consistent level in Challengers and higher ITF events. Both players are Italian, but Piraino’s greater experience against stronger opposition and strong clay-court pedigree position him as the consensus favorite in trader pricing. Lorusso, a 26-year-old right-hander, will need to leverage home conditions and any early momentum to challenge the higher-ranked opponent in best-of-three sets.
