The St. Louis Cardinals (32-28) hold a slim edge in the NL Central over the Cincinnati Reds (31-30) as the teams meet for a three-game set at Busch Stadium beginning June 5. The probable starters include Matthew Liberatore for the Cardinals against Nick Lodolo for the Reds in the June 6 matchup, with both clubs featuring young pitching staffs and balanced lineups. A notable development is Elly De La Cruz landing on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain, removing a key power and speed threat from the Reds' middle infield. Both teams have dealt with additional roster absences, while recent interleague and divisional results highlight competitive NL Central play. Home/road splits and bullpen usage in the series could influence late-inning outcomes.
