The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs sit atop the 2027 NBA champion market as co-leaders thanks to their elite young cores, recent Western Conference Finals appearances, and roster continuity entering the 2026-27 season. Victor Wembanyama and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander anchor two of the league’s most versatile, defensively stout units with substantial depth and front-office stability. The Philadelphia 76ers climbed into third after adding LeBron James, creating another high-upside Eastern contender alongside the defending-champion New York Knicks. This clustering reflects multiple teams with overlapping championship timelines, comparable star power, and limited major roster upheaval, leaving the field wide open as training camps approach.
