The 2026 NBA Play-In Tournament, determining the No. 7 and 8 seeds in each conference ahead of the April 18 playoffs start, has seen pivotal results over the past 48 hours. In the East, the No. 7 Philadelphia 76ers clinched their spot by beating the No. 8 Orlando Magic 109-97, powered by Tyrese Maxey's 31 points despite Joel Embiid's absence, while the No. 9 Charlotte Hornets stunned the No. 10 Miami Heat 127-126 in OT. West saw the No. 8 Portland Trail Blazers rally past the No. 7 Phoenix Suns behind Deni Avdija's 41 points for the 7th seed, and the No. 10 Golden State Warriors upset the No. 9 Clippers on a late Curry-led surge. Trader consensus hinges on April 17 deciders: Magic vs. Hornets (East 8th at Orlando) and Suns vs. Warriors (West 8th at Phoenix), factoring home-court edges, short rest, and injury concerns like Embiid's status.
