Trader consensus on Cache's addition to CS2's Active Duty map pool hinges on Valve's May 2025 acquisition of the map rights from FMPONE, followed by escalating teases through official channels and social media into early 2026. Despite hype, the January Premier Season 4 patch instead removed Train and reintroduced Anubis, maintaining the seven-map rotation of Ancient, Anubis, Dust2, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke, and Vertigo for competitive, Premier, and majors. Pro players advocate its return for balanced CT-side play and historical edge in grand finals, but no official integration has occurred as of mid-April, with upcoming patches or Major qualifiers as key catalysts amid community workshop versions fueling interim play.
