Kirk Cousins holds a dominant position as the projected Raiders Week 1 starter due to his veteran experience and explicit designation by head coach Klint Kubiak as the opening training camp quarterback with the bulk of first-team reps. The 15-year pro, signed ahead of the 2026 draft, provides immediate stability in a quarterback room that also includes first-overall pick Fernando Mendoza, the 2025 Heisman winner from Indiana. Mendoza's development timeline and preseason performance will determine any late shift, while Aidan O'Connell's minimal market share reflects his reduced role. Realistic scenarios that could alter the outcome include a Cousins injury during camp or preseason, or an unusually rapid adjustment by the rookie that forces an earlier handoff. Trader consensus reflects the typical NFL preference for established signal-callers over unproven draftees in Week 1 lineups.

In the event two listed quarterbacks take the field on the first offensive play of the Las Vegas Raiders’ Week 1 game, this market will resolve in favor of the player directly receiving the snap. If neither listed quarterback directly receives the snap, this market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically.
If Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or no official starter has taken the field within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL and/or the Las Vegas Raiders; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
