Trader consensus prices "No" at 74% implied probability for Max Verstappen retiring from F1 in 2026, discounting his post-Japanese Grand Prix frustration over the underwhelming new regulations and Red Bull's RB22 struggles—currently ninth in driver standings with 12 points after a midfield start including a China DNF and slowest pace since 2015. Recent confirmation of longtime race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase departing for McLaren in 2028 adds uncertainty, yet his contract runs through that year, father Jos expresses confidence in continuation, and no firm exit plans or alternative pursuits have emerged to shift sentiment despite ongoing constructors' woes placing Red Bull sixth.
